Description
After lending production talents to releases on PAN, PPU, and Future Times, Dawit Eklund debuts on his own label,1432 R, with the Ouroboros EP. Side A, Litchi Juice, is a funk-laced trip through “gully club music”, as Eklund describes it, channelling inspiration from masters Theo Parrish and Pepe Bradock.
On the flip is Lies Are Chic, a menacing track influenced heavily by Herbie Hancock and Tony Allen records. It’s a mind-bending ride around a snarling bassline, topped with jazzy percussion and psychedelic sound design.
Finally the Lies Are Chic (Microdose Mix) is exclusive to the vinyl and is not included in the digital release.
