Layo & Bushwacka!’s mix of their own track ‘Love Story’ and Kings Of Tomorrow’s ‘Finally’ turns twenty years old in 2023. A club and radio killer in equal measure, ‘Love Story (vs Finally)’ still sounds fresh today: the track’s squelching acid synths and instructional video-like vocal cadence would slot in well at most discerning dancefloors. However, in honour of this important milestone in clubland history, XL Recordings has commissioned yet another legend in Paul Woolford aka Special Request to take a pass at ‘Love Story (vs Finally)’. Woolford plays up the big room drama here, retooling with some emotive keys and even bouncier drums while bringing the vocals to the fore. His mix is absolutely massive!!
