This single originally released in 1983, Leroy’s second ever production, showcases his wonderful production and vocal talents on this boogie classic. Shep Pettibone supplies both mixes on this extended 12″ from the Salsoul vaults.
Boogie bomb and A-Side track “Heartbreaker” has been pressed at 100BPM instead of the original pressing at 110BPM – meaning it’s been pitched down by 7%. This shouldn’t be a problem for anyone that has decks with pitch control, and in fact according to some people it actually makes it sound better! Either way I wouldn’t let it put you off. Especially when you consider VG+ copies of the original pressing are listed on Discogs for up to £80.
B side track “Stranger” is reported to be a nod to Quincy Jones and is another slick boogie funk gem that’s worth having in the box.
